Retirement is more than it is cracked up to be. And while our web site www.larryandglorine.com provides a blow by blow depiction of 2009, here are a few pictures that capture the true essence of our retirement--fun, family and happiness. Here we are posing on a Harley while attending a "sock hop" in Ajijic in March. This was near the end of our second year of wintering in Mexico, which was filled with four months of pleasurable moments. |
From April through October we roamed through the USA with extended stays with our family and friends and a two month adventure along the Mississippi River from Louisiana to Minnesota. About half of this time was spent with our daughters and their growing families. This picture is one of the many special moments we experienced with our grandchildren. Wow what lasting and remarkable memories these little people can provide. |
Carmen hosted the Barnhardt family reunion at their home in Fullerton in October. The week was filled with birthday celebrations, Halloween treats, and sightseeing which included the LA Zoo, the beach and the children's museum. While Mike was attending a college class, the rest of us had a night out and captured this family picture. |
In November, we returned to Ajijic, which has become our wintering home. Being renters, we have the luxury of experiencing different life styles, and this one is in a resort community, including a pool, hot tub, community center with lots of activities. Plus we still have all the other amenities we have become accustomed to here on Lake Chapala. |
