We began the New Year's Day attending a small parade in downtown Ajijic. There were a dozen floats and a couple of bands to ring in a better new year.

These life size boards are called Loteria, which is a form of Mexican Bingo. Rather than numbers, they have pictures, with the name of what is on the picture. | Time for a COVID Booster shot. Glorine, Wayne and Maureen waited in line at a park in Chapala for a couple of hours. We are now bullet proof! |
We were exposed to a friend who had COVID, so we spent part of January quarantined and got tested four days later and it was NEGATIVO! | One weekend the Ajijic Malecon was filled with vendors from throughout Mexico promoting their coffee, chocolate and wine. It was amazing! |

Happy New Years!! The spike in Omicron was too high on December 31st, so the party was moved to January 14th! | The New Year's Eve party was hosted by friends Ron and Jean and went into the wee hours of the evening. We were home by 11:00 |

Larry celebrated his 75th birthday at the LCS Concert in the Park, featuring Argentinian, Maru Conti who did a tribute to Lady Gaga. Gaga is 35, so we did not recognize many of her songs, but the performance was awesome. | While waiting for dinner reservations, we went to a new restaurant/bar, where Larry got a Michalate, which is clamato juice, lots of spice and a beer. The beer and the presentation was great. |
Tango, one of the best restaurants in Ajijic. Brian and Marilyn got a 26 oz. Fillet Mignon, (for two) plus some to take home. Brian's birthday is coming up on January 31. | Tango has a new location which is much larger with a lake view. Chuck's birthday is on January 24 and Jean's is on January 29. |

Larry had a 14 oz. fillet and Glorine had an awesome salmon. Pre COVID, we would normally celebrate our birthdays together. Nice to enjoy an old ritual. | Open Circle had a startling presentation on Human Trafficking, which is the second fastest growing crime in America. Young people are enticed into jobs, which do not exist end up as slaves or sex workers. |
Dwight Blake was a delight as he entertained us with Motown hits, from Marvin Gay, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson. | Time for Chuck's 80th birthday party with friends at Adelita's, an excellent restaurant with live music. They took off for Puerto Vallarta to extend the celebration. |

Behind the Walls Home Tour, returned after a two-year absence due to COVID. These homes are all spectacular and most have grand views of the lake. | This home featured a double staircase from their entertainment center below to bedroom suites with impressive views. |
This home had no view of the lake, but made up for it with this splendid view of trees, which the home was built around. | These people are from Elgin, Illinois and decided to bring the Elgin stove and fridge with. Their dining room opened into a balcony overlooking the lake. |

La Bodega was the first restaurant we ate at in 2004 when we checked out Ajijic for the first time. We returned to dine and listen to Marianna, who has a full vocal range and sings songs in four languages. | The Lake Chapala Society had an Extraordinary Meeting to update its constitution. A bit boring, but it attracted over 120 people in person and on ZOOM. |
