With the great pool and hot tub we have here at El Parque, we hosted a half dozen pool parties as a farewell to the snow birds who will be flying north shortly. | Throw in some food and add some games, these parties were a hit. We got eight people around our whiskey barrel table--too bad someone had to loose--sorry Brian! |

We met Gary Eckroth, another native of Mandan, ND. He spent most of his career on the east coast and now he and Ginger live in Maine and winter here. Yes, it is a small world! | From Minnesota lake country to Lake Chapala--Alan and Carol treated Kay, Gary and us to another great home cooked meal and another wonderful conversation. |

March consisted of a few of the coldest days of the winter. Friends Phil (all bundled up) and Mary had movie night and had several of us over for a warm home cooked meal. | St Patrick's Day was a big hit with several restaurants serving the famed Irish corn beef and cabbage. Rick and Kathy took the prize for best dressed couple. |
|
|
St. Patrick's day was unusually chilly and cooler at night. But Rick warmed things up by buying roses for all the ladies at our table. They all loved them! | Manix Restaurant pulled all the stops for a St. Patrick's bash and in return they filled every seat in the house. Great food, and great '60s and '70 dancing music. What a fun night! |

We joined friends Mark and Bernice at a great seafood place that used to be run by "squatters." They were so successful, that they opened this cute restaurant nearby. | During El Parque's "staff appreciation" day, the staff (about 10 in all) and their families got to enjoy all the amenities that those of us that live here normally take for granted. |

Friend Jim, in the blue shirt, co-hosted a wonderful going away party for a couple dozen of his closest friends in one of the finest home in Ajijic. It was a great treat! | The evening before leaving Ajijic for the winter, friend Gladys threw a quiet and intimate going away party for a few of her friends. Her summer home is in Edmonton. |

Lip Sync, is a fund raiser, where snowbirds dress up and pretend they're the entertainers they are imitating. Our friend Dee, was a part of Martha and the Vandellas. | This lady brought the house down, lip syncing to Luciano Pavarotti. Entertainment is one of the things that makes Ajijic one of the best retirement places in the world. |

It was Glorine's birthday Month and sister Maureen hosted one of several celebrations she had in store. Ajijic is a special place to grow older. | For her birthday we explored Guachimontones (Goo-wa-chee-mown-tone-ehs) Pyramids an ancient ruin (300 BC to 900 AD) that is only 20 percent excavated. |

Less than 2 hours from Ajijic, this site it world renowned. We met this young couple Laurent and Lise, from France who are taking a "two year" tour from Nova Scotia to Argentina. | On the way home, we stopped in Jocotepec, on the far west end of the lake and had dinner at a quaint restaurant named after Frieda Kahlo. Nice romantic evening. |

30+ friends joined in on March birthday/anniversary celebration party. Friends Alistair and Donna used the occasion to say farewell--heading to Oregon soon. | Friends Brian, Marilyn and Jim will soon be heading back to Canada. However, as home owners in multiple locations their efforts our much different than us renters. |
|
|
Rose (who Larry calls Mama) joined friends Peter and Sybilla, who had some celebration of their own. They were going to be grandparents for a second time. | Friends Chuck and Jean were also winding down there time in Ajijic. They invited us to join them in Cabo San Lucas for Thanksgiving and for our joint wedding anniversaries. |

|
One couple celebrated their anniversary and Glorine was the only March birthday, so Glorine invited the snowbirds who had summer birthdays to join in on the celebration. | We ended March as it began--a pool party, dinner and some games. We are starting to wonder what life in Ajijic will be like when all these snowbirds have gone home?!? |
March's web page includes March 1 through March 31.
