The holidays in Ajijic offered many art fairs and festivals
showing off the awesome talent by locals and visitors from around the area. |
We celebrated Norm's birthday party with Norm, Lil and 20 of
their friends. We met them during our first year here and have enjoyed their friendship
ever since. |
|
|
|
January's Behind the Wall home tour highlighted homes in a large
development near Ajijic (all with views of Lake Chapala and Mt. Garcia).
Christmas was also on display. |
This home is for sale for $1.9 million USD, and it was
awesome. This picture is of a grand dining room in the back yard,
next to the pool. The young couple are moving to San Miguel de Allende. |

Glorine hosted dinner (Rice Bowls) and a movie (A Boy
Named Christmas) with close friends. The guys were enjoying their time
conversing sitting by our fire pit in the patio. |
LCS's Open Circle featured a local Mariachi band during the
holidays consisting of a dozen kids to young adults playing traditional Mariachi
music. |
|
|
|
Mariachi music originated in the 18th century about 1 and 1/2 hours
west of Ajijic and consists of violins, guitars, and trumpets along with
traditional dress attire. Inspiring! |
Christmas Eve in the Plaza in downtown Ajijic included tons of
decorations and lights. We were amused by this light display where a dog
was chasing the lights. |
|
|
|
Christmas Eve was spent with friends at Scallion's with a
buffet dinner and live music. It went into the wee hours of the
evening-about 9 or 9:30. |
Wayne and Maureen took advantage of the music and spent most of
the night dancing to good old Rock 'n' Roll. |
|

|
Chuck and Jean hosted a New Years Eve potluck dinner at
their home with about a dozen close friends. What a way to close a very good
year! |
We decided to document ringing in the New Year with pictures of
these dear friends. Larry first met Norm and Lil on a hiking trip up the
mountains in 2008. |
|
|
|
Larry and Chris met attending Everyday Mindfulness at LCS and
Glorine met Barbara through volunteering at LCS's Career Days. In addition to time
together in Ajijic, we visited them at their home in GreenBelt, MD. |
Jim and Margo are snowbird friends we met here in Ajijic. This
past summer we spent time with them at their home in Regina, Sask, Canada. |
|
|
|
We first met Chuck and Jean in December of 2007 on a bus trip to
celebrate our individual anniversaries in Guadalajara. We spent lots of time
with them over the years, plus time in Peru and RVing in UT and CO. |
What a way to end 2025. We not only survived our health
challenges, but thrived past recovery and are now back to living life to the
fullest. Happy New Years to all! |
