Our Roaming adventures include time with family and dear friends but also exploring the scenic roads of America. And at times it includes both at the same time. We started May with an overnight campout with Carmen at Joshua Tree National Park near Palm Springs, CA. It included hiking through patches of Joshua Trees, unique to the southwestern part of the US, along with these giant boulders

Heart rock is a favorite spot for tourists to explore. It is 12' tall and eroded into a perfectly shaped heart.	Next to Heart Rock was an unnamed rock until Glorine tagged it "Cheeseburger Rock."
From CA we flew to Portland and rented a car to visit family in OR and WA. In route to Seattle, we took this picture of Mt. Rainier. It was a perfectly sunny day!	Jerry is Larry's cousin. We spent a couple of days with him and wife Mary, catching up, dining, and playing lots of hand and foot.
We drove to Salem, OR to spend time with Larry's sister Claudia, her husband Lou, and son Bryon. They were our role models for getting into RVing!	We spent a couple of days with Larry's niece Lynne  (Claudia's daughter) and husband Jim who live in Vancouver WA. It was great catching up with them.
Back in California, Carmen joined us on another overnight camping trip to Solvang. This is Santa Ines, one of the CA mission church built in the early 1800s.	The mission is one of the highlights of Solvang, CA, billed as "The Danish Capital of America". It has windmills and tutor-styled buildings throughout the town.
We walked the boardwalks and wharf in Santa Barbara. It was a bit breezy but still great exploring the largest south-facing beach of the Pacific Ocean.	Back home we got to enjoy the warmth of  Carmen's hot tub. We spent three weeks with Carmen and family and many hours reminiscing and playing games.
Back on the road, we visited Glorine's niece Leslie and  son Mason in Salt Lake, UT. Mason is attending the University of Utah on a full-ride scholarship.	Next, we drove to Logan, UT to spent the weekend with Steve Orduno, Larry's Stem Cell Donor. Here we are walking along one of Steve's favorite fishing holes.
Steve's mom, Darlene, treated us to a family dinner at Olive Garden. Next to her is dad, George, identical twin Joe and wife Cassie. They made us feel at home!	After breakfast and church, we enjoyed two rounds of bowling. Steve also helped install seat covers for the RV, which Glorine and I could not have done alone.
Logan Utah is in a beautiful valley, surrounded by snow-capped mountains on all side. We are so thankful for Steve and the support of his family!	On to Rapid City to visit Glorine's sister Sally and family. Here we are enjoying breakfast with her daughter Cindy and Gary.
Another one of Sally's daughters, Tammy and Jeff, invited us for an evening with their family. Larry got to play poker with Jeff, their son and four grandchildren.	Here we are with Larry's twin Lorraine. Her and Frank treated us to dinner in Medora.  A presidential library for Teddy Roosevelt is being built in Medora.
One of the biggest changes for us on our ND visit was this new high school (9-12). It is a massive $95 million complex with all secondary programs in one building. We and our girls graduated from the old Mandan High.	Randy, Larry's nephew and Marla treated us to dinner. They were one of our house guests in Mexico.  Fun treat and great conversation of our times together.
Rick and James, treated us for lunch along with their mom, Gloria, Larry's sister-in-law and James's wife Leeann. Gloria was married to Larry's brother Pete.	Here we are with Glorine's brother Ray and niece Koreen. They live a few blocks apart in south Mandan. Koreen bought a new Class C RV like ours.
MaryAnn, Larry's sister-in-law was married to brother Jacob. He passed away in 2023 at the age of 91. We had lunch, played cards and reminisced about Jacob.	Friend's Dennis and Betty are regulars on our visit to ND. They joined us on five RV trips to Banff, Coeur d'Alene, San Juan Islands, Sun Valley, and Key West.
We joined James, Leeann, Rick, Randy, Marla, and Gloria at James and Leeann's cabin on Lake Tschida. Lots of food and games filled the day. We chose to enjoy the lake from the shoreline!	James inherited Larry's mom's hutch which is 100+ years old. It was part of the old homestead of Rose's mom and dad who were a part of the great Germans from Russia migration in the late 1800s.
