In Glorine's presentation, she talked about the career posters she designed to help
Mexican students learn more about the many choices they have once they grow
up. |
Meanwhile, Larry focused his
time and energy on preparing for the reunion for his siblings and their offsprings.
About 100 people are expected to attend. |
|
|
Friend Allistair and Larry spent the day at Chula Vista Golf Course enjoying
the time, the views, and the walks between balls. Thank goodness for
caddies. |
We were immersed in
this Beattlemania concert in Guadalajara.
They released "Love Me Do" in 1962 and dressed like this on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. |
|
|
They had a complete make over as songs like "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and the "Yellow Submarine" took to the airwaves.
|
On
May 8, 1970 their last album "Let It Be" was released. In all, there are 240 songs
which embodied the counter culture
movement of the 1960s. It was a GREAT show! |

The Chili Cook Off, one of the biggest fund raising events in Ajijic included a parade from the plaza to
the Tobolandia Water Park, where it is held. |
The three-day event included a competition for the best chili and Margaritas, vendors showing their wares and live music including the music of Blue Jay Slim. |

Valentines is one of the top five celebrated holidays in the world. This year we were joined by friends at
La Mission Restaurant for a three-hour
dinner. |
As our new home was being exterminated for termites, a worker accidently drilled a hole in
a main waterline. They did all the repair work with hand tools. |
|
|
We
spent ten days in California to be with Carmen and her family. And were
we
surprised to see Dakota nearly as tall as Grandma Glorine.
|
On February 18,
Hunter turned seven and had his traditional birthday breakfast in bed. Here he is joined by his family and one of the dogs. |
|
|
They were planning on a Nerf Gun party outdoors, but the rain made them
shift plans for an indoor celebration at the local Gymnasium, that Hunter and
Dakota attend. |
This is harder than it looks, but Hunter had no problem getting up and holding
this pose for ten seconds, while posing for this picture. |
|
|
Sierra made it halfway up the rope before deciding it was too hard.
She also got a little rope burn on the way down. Ouch that hurts! |
Hunter was joined by some of his first grade classmates, fellow Boy Scouts and
family members for pizza, cake and gift opening--more Nerf Guns. |
|
|
This is Hunter's bedroom and playroom. We were so proud of him as he
scoured through his old toys and moved them to the garage to get them ready to
sell. |
Meet Lucy, the new Golden English Labrador they got over the Christmas holidays.
She and fellow pet, Penny, were named after Beatles song. |
|
|
Sierra and Dakota are in Girl Scouts and this is cookie season. 2017 is the
100th year that Girl Scouts have been selling cookies and the girls
went all out! |
We saw the new TESLA, an
all electric car that goes 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Prices range from $68K to $134K, but a $35K model will be
produce mid 2017. |
|
|
We watched Dakota, along with all her 5th and 6th grade classmate in the
school's production of The Little Mermaid. It was a hit! |
Dakota got to play a fish (seen here in front with a gold outfit) and also one of the
six princesses that wanted to marry the young prince. |
|
|
Princess Dakota (purple gown) and her classmates enjoyed the applause and
praise from parents and family members at the end. It was will
deserved. |
Larry and Hunter went to Lowes to get material. When the clerk asked what
we were building, Hunter said a "Gun Rack". Larry clarified it was for his
Nerf Guns! |
|
|
A floor to ceiling gun rack ready for display. And what was most fun
was watching Hunter use an electric drill, a hand saw and a screwdriver.
And all correctly! |
Mid-February and time to plant the garden. So Carmen and Mom went to Lowes at 7:00
am to get garden supplies. By noon they had all the veggies planted.
Our time in California was too short but was lots of fun. |
