Roaming Through Retirement



June—Family get together!
With Carmen's annual convention being held in Minnesota this year, we cut our overseas trip short. Mike, Dakota, Sierra and Hunter flew to Minnesota for an extended weekend at Denise and Craig's making it our first family reunion since February 2012.  What a treat!

On June 10, we left Bangkok at 5:30 am and arrived in LAX at 11:00 am on the same day and this included a four hour stop in Tokyo. Here we are flying over the Pacific along the east coast of Japan.	We kept currency from each of the countries we toured and created a three ring binder for each of our grandchildren. The kids thought they were rich when they saw a $10,000 Vietnam Dong--worth less than 50 cents.
The kids enjoyed our home coming as much as we enjoyed seeing them.	We picked up Carmen after a long day at the conference and spent the evening at Minnehaha Falls.
Minnehaha's Sea Salt Eatery specializes in sea food and we took advantage of it with a huge tray of oysters, muscles, and shrimp. And that was just appetizers.	The weather could not have been better for a weekend of fun on the lake.  The kids were in seventh heaven playing together.
Hunter and Chase did some bumper tubing!	And the whole family enjoyed diving and jumping off the Lily Pad.
We caught this sunset as we headed back home for an outdoor movie.	On Father's Day we all hopped on the pontoon for a cruise to the park and a stroll to downtown Prior Lake for breakfast.
In route, the kids climbed to the top of this hill and showed us how tough they were.	It was Father's Day.  We found this swing and used it for the fathers to pose with the kids.
On Clara's birthday, they rode bikes to our campsite to open some presents--like this retro Snowcone maker.	And roller blades that didn't take Clara long for her to get used to.
That afternoon we caught this picture of Clara, Chase, Mom and Dad jumping on the count of 10.  The time Clara was born.	That evening, Grandma Cheri joined us on a road trip to Wisconsin to a working farm making pizza.
Music in the Park in Lakeville was an enjoyable way to spend a summer night in MN.	Birthday parties on the lake have been a tradition since Clara was two, but this year's included a sleepover.
The girls joined Denise on the boat and the rest of the party goers met up with them on the pontoon.	The rest of the afternoon was watching the girls enjoying themselves on the lake.
The girls enjoyed an evening of activities including polishing their fingers and toe nails.	This year, Clara turned 10, double digits, just like grandma and grandpa.
Friends Gary and Kay joined us for lunch at Charlie's on Prior Lake along with a nice pontoon ride around the lake.	Before leaving for our trip to North Dakota, we watched Chase field this ball at baseball lessons.  Always busy!
