We have arrived at the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" each with its own Loon or two. With Denise, Craig and Clara living on Prior Lake southwest of the Twin Cities, as you will see this is where we spent most of our time while in Minnesota. What a great place to spend a couple of weeks in the summer time. Let's keep in touch, so send us an update by clicking on this link Larry and Glorine.

Little Miss Clara Ann turned one and already has two seasons of fun lake experience under her belt. Pictured are Craig, Clara and Denise. | Here Dakota Rose is teaching her mom and dad (Carmen and Mike) some basic lessons on "bumper tubing."
Dakota's swimming lessons are paying off with her taking off in 40 foot deep water in Candy Cove, one of the many bays on Prior Lake. | Just riding on the boat and looking at all the trees and beautiful homes is fun and relaxing for Carmen and Dakota
With the big "One Year Old Celebration" coming up, three generations of Barnhardts' (Clara, Denise and Glorine) stop to take a quick photo. | Dakota and Clara sharing a special moment together.

Clara's birthday party drew a large crowd of about 70 friends and family members. Here are a few of her first and second cousins(once removed) who came to celebrate with her. To enlarge, click on picture. | Carmen, Mike and Dakota arrived on the 4th of July to celebrate our nations birthday and played a large role making Clara Ann's birthday such a success. Dakota is eight months older than Clara, but both may be in the same grade when they start school.
It is beginning to be a rare occasion when we can get our entire family together and take the time for a group photo. Here are all nine of us?!? Well, 8 and 2/3rds. Yes, Carmen is expecting a baby girl in mid-October. | And now for the official festivities--the candle blowing. Well, she tried, but mom and dad did the honors.
"And what could this be? Yes, it's a new toy." | "My, am I special or what. Look at all the great gifts that all my guests gave me. Just for turning one. Thank you for making my party so special."
We did get off the lake a bit to visit some Twin City relatives. Here is Tim (Glorine's nephew) and Nancy Ressler. By the time we took this picture, their kids, Harrison and Oliva were in bed. Maybe next time. | Claudia (Larry's sister) and Lou spent some time in the Twin Cities and went camping with us. Here we are sampling some fine SCHELL beer at their brewery in New Ulm. We also got to visit Brent and Barb Schank at their home in Winsted and Jeff and Nancy Christensen at their home in Lakeville. A special thanks to everyone for being such fine hosts.
Nothing like a little water skiing to get those old muscles woken up. This is Glorine reliving the hundreds of time she went skiing at Lake Nelson and Lake Watab | It's a lot easier when your twenty five years younger. Here is Denise making slaloming look easy.
Play Me!! | |||||
And if slaloming is not hard enough, look at Craig wake boarding. | Maybe if we work at it, we can be ready for some more advanced water sports next summer. Ski Safe!! |
